A rare portrayal of Hanuman in bold black outline, Uttar Pradesh or Gujrat; 17th century. The inscriptions in Arabic and Gujrati languages indicate that its painter was a muslim tantric worshipper of Hanuman tantric worshipper of Hanuman. This instance of a muslim devotee of a Hindu deity is by no means exceptional.
